Breakfast is served at our kitchen table. Muesli, Yogurt and fresh fruit or old school porridge, fresh breads, homemade marmalade and jams, and a 'Full English' with the best of our local eggs, bacon and sausages (or, kippers smoked locally in Whitby). Loose leaf teas and freshly roasted coffee. For anyone heading out on an early day trip, we'll provide bacon butties and a flask.

We can provide lunch to order, from a walker’s sandwich to a full-blown hamper.

Afternoon tea might be served in the garden in summer or in front of a roaring log fire in the winter months. We pride ourselves on our baking, so you can expect fresh cakes.

Evening meals are served by special arrangement and can be informal and flexible (to include local bangers and mash, a hearty stew or home made fish cakes followed by one of our homemade “pudds") or a special evening dinner.

If you opt for dinner it is always a special occasion at The Farmhouse with candles, good wine and a changing and seasonal menu. We look to bring the very best of the region to your plate - the best fish from Whitby, meat and game from the local moors and farms, and fresh vegetables from local suppliers. We believe in the best of ingredients cooked beautifully, and will always aim to accommodate special requests and dietary needs.

We stock a range of delicious wines from the Wine Society, beers from several local breweries and cider from Ampleforth Abbey.  A copy of our wine list is available on request.

Note: If you are planning a stay in one of our self catered cottages but would like to enquire about any of our menus or food offerings please do get in touch and we will try wherever possible to accommodate you.
